# Sustainability

### 99% More Energy Efficient

One of the significant criticisms of blockchains like Ethereum centers around its negative environmental impacts and high energy consumption.

However, this criticism will soon be a thing of the past as the Ethereum merge fast approaches, which will transition Ethereum from a Proof-Of-Work to a Proof-Of-Stake chain. The adjustment promises to cut the Ethereum blockchain’s energy consumption by 99%.

> Bloom aims to be the first NFT collection launched on this new energy-efficient chain.

Regarding physical items, our goal is to herald only the highest quality and sustainably sourced materials to create limited-run physical items which will be tied to their “digital twins” on the Ethereum Blockchain so that owners can prove their authenticity and track the entire history of ownership. A luxury brand for the digital age.

We believe in creating products that have a market beyond their initial sales.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.bloom.xyz/bloom/w/sustainability.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
